The Mardi Gras "Care Package"

And we weren't even having ant adult beverages!....it was only made possible with the help of my sister that sent a Mardi Gras "care package".....minus the King Cake!


Negi - "Look What I Caught"!

The box filled with beads and doubloons (coins thrown from floats) finally got put to use this year.....standing on the balcony of our flat......looking down safely upon the Holi Celebrations taking place at street level.....it was only fitting to participate in some unique way.


Proud of his catch!

Safe from our faces being smeared with a multitude of colors......Linda suggested that we get a few strands of beads from our "stash" and introduce the neighborhood to some of the fun we grew up with.


Looking Good

I wish I could claim the creative genius for this new "celebration".....but it is the brainchild of Linda......and what a hit.....the scene below was just like Mardi Gras.....competing for the beads and doubloons....the only thing missing was the chant's of "Throw Me Something Mister"!......

Perhaps next year.....we have a year to teach and practice.
